TAMPA BAY RAYS KEEP GOING

07/21/2010

Even though the Rays are currently playing the Orioles, things haven’t been this good for them in quite a while. The most recent victory of theirs, on Monday, left them at 8-1 over Baltimore. Despite a crushing loss to the all-powerful Yankees, these guys came right back to the field with some great baseball.

Losing against any team is hard, but when the leadership of the division is at stake, it’s even rougher. This didn’t affect the Rays as they did battle with the Orioles. On the contrary, they looked to be in top form, perhaps seeing where their game was lacking has motivated them to come back even stronger. The game on Monday was action packed, past paced, and excellent.

With a sense of direction, the Rays came on strong. They claimed their 10th victory in 13 games as the score was pushed to 8-0 by the third inning. A great showing y some of the sports finest players, Florida is looking greater than ever as they move into the final months of the 2010 season.

At the mound, Rookie Wade Davis allowed one run over eight innings against the Orioles. He has some amazing numbers against them in his three starts. He gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out three. With a 0.75 ERA vs. the Orioles, he certainly knows how to take them down.

Combined with some great fielding, the pitching lineup for the Rays punished the opposition. A great start by Davis, with a solid close from the bullpen was a great demonstration of how a game should go. The Tampa Bay Rays are well on their way to dominance, they just need to focus on the little things. Be sure and follow these guys on www.scores.com, home of the best betting data on the internet.
